Claire O Grady is back with us to deliver her intensive 2 day training  workshop. Claire is a complementary therapist and has been working as a Reflexologist with the Cancer Care West Support Centre since its opening in March 2007. Claire has completed training in Ireland and the UK on cancer care and counseling skills, and has attended lectures on the emotional effects of cancer. She works closely with oncology nurses and physiologists in order to support each patient on their cancer journey.
As a qualified reflexologist this two day course will help you understand cancer, its different stages, its treatments, the people it affects and how they are affected. The focus of the workshop will be on adapting and utilising a range of techniques and positioning for comfort that can be used safely for the benefit of patients and yourself.

We will examine the benefits of reflexology for patients in the area of hospice and cancer care, as well as identifying some common misconceptions. We will also cover topics on creating a ‘Learned Relaxation Response’, Lymphoedema awareness and reflexology lymphatic drainage sequencing.

As part of the workshop, input from participants will be encouraged to share their knowledge and personal/professional experiences.

Workshop will include:
